NEW YORK: Curtis Sliwa, Candidate for New York City Mayor, will denounce Eric Adams’ refusal of federal funds from President Joe Biden‘s Coronavirus relief package intended to hire more cops and stop crime in major cities.
In a press conference today, July 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Sliwa Campaign HQ ar 450 7th Ave, suite, 707, Sliwa will call on the NY congressional delegation to accept federal funding to hire more police officers and refund nearly $1 billion from the NYPD’s budget, despite a record violent crime wave and shooting spike.

Sliwa will condemn anti-police rhetoric and urge Congress to send the federal funds to New York City and require their use to hire additional police to quell skyrocketing gun violence and crime in the City of New York.
The Biden coronavirus relief package included $350 billion for large cities across the country to address crime, a portion of which was allocated to New York.
